More Unsullied and Héroes for Daenerys

Hi, I had no Big advances in any project last days...energy is low..  But I progressed a little with the Targaryen forces for Game of Thrones /Song of Ice and Fire

As I received last purchases including the Dark Alliance "eastern tribes" a.k.a Middle Earth easterlings, I gave them a Chance as reinforcements for the Unsullied eunuch Pikemen of Queen Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, the Unburnt, etc etc

I took Two of them as sample and included them with the second Unit I am creating of these soldiers (mostly converted atlántic/Nexus greeks . Not disapointed with resuls I have. The Dark colour , round hoplite shields and Spears make all the visual job actually.

More to be added Soon (the goal is to have four infantry Units of 12 men each)

I also have to finish a Mounted versión of Knight Ser Jorah Mormont (loyal and traitor to her loved Daenerys at same time) and old Knight Ser Barristan Selmy, former member of the Royal Guard , who later Joined the Cause of Daenerys)

Do you recognise original figures for these both charachters?

They join to other charachters I already have, as Greyworm, Missandei or the Queen herself.. Plus Dragons (adult and juvenil versions ready,)
Then also somenunits of dothraki horsemen Must be apso prepared...

Men Of Gondor

Hello, after investing some time in my prevois Work on a Imperial War griffon which turned to be quite succesful, I moved again to Middle Earth, trying to expand that area with a new important army.

This time is for the human Kingdom of Gondor and the warriors of Minas Tirith

I firstly want to declare: even as big fan of Peter Jackspn trilogy, I never really liked the look of the Gondor troops  there(in comparison with Rohan which I really loved).

Too uniform looking, too plate, too shiny... It was not the hardened army of an old strong Kingdom in troubles, they were just dressed figurants running all time around and  simulating they were fighting an orc invasion....

I was searching from the beggining for a very different inspiration... According to Tolkien himself, this kingdom was more some kind of representation of Late Roman empire or even Byzantium... So more chainmail, quilt and scale was probably to find ..  And troops could not be very uniform...

Here several nice inspiration pictures I found (not esy to find.. Internet is firstly giving you hunderds of pictures from the Peter JAckson version, inlcuding of course the Games Wirkshop minuatures... I spent some time to get to these:

The next one was the best inspiration (some converted 28mm normans!! In addition to all previous suggestion pictures,  believed then that long  feudal mail hauberk could also work fine for this faction....

(In the other hand, as extreme alternative I also found other more intrincate designs like classical roman-greek which inspired for example the old mithril miniatures range.. i did not like that version either.)

Then, after deciding the desired look, I had to look for adequate 1/72 recruits... Although some late romans were in my sight too, I decided myself for several orion byzantine troops  and also differentr Strelets Normans 8form which I have a lot rpeeated form Strelets big-sets!)

Here my first tetst company of Minas Tirith infantrymen... I think they match what I had imagined and I like their part.. Now I have to look for some archers and then Cavalry, Ithilien rangers...

And if it goes good , I will add special troop types ( Knights of Dol Amrtoh, Lossarnach Axemen...)

Imperial Challenge

 Hello,

As our beloved colleague Philotep threw a new Autumn Challenge to recruit an urgent army to defend the Lands of Sigmar (as posted here http://philotepsfigures.blogspot.com/ and here  http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24022)    I bring my humble contribution here...

Sadly I could just bring two men: One on foot and the other MOUNTED... I Hope they can support the Scarce Talabecland men of Count Ellector Philotep somehow ;)..

Infos:

This challenge was a good chance for me to re-take an old project i had waiting here since some years ago... ready in 72hours of mountog-converting-painting! Help was urgently needed to fight against the Orctober-fest Threat!

The Body of the Beast is a Demigrypgh from Games Workshop.. A demigryph is supposed ot be a smaller version of a griffon, and without wings.

So, it was easy for me to decide to get one of these figures as second hand item (around 7 eur .. I still have the original warhammer rider, not use for me right now) , because a "smaller 28mm griffon" could be indeed a very good  "big Imperial War griffon for 1/72 miniatures"..

Just some apporpiate wings were needed (some extra work here in my huge collection and even in some toys shops) and actually I liked the result so much

Then i was thinking for as While about the heroic rider.. I decided among brilliant Orion XVI c knights set, rebix war of roses mounted Men At armas and also Redbox XIVc european Mounted Men at Arms.

This last was my choice (I was not brave enough to sacrifice one Orion unique knight-- Top right ofgure)

I tried to convert the knight first to make his helmet crest bigger, but I did a mess and I lost even the original material somwehere (becasue of my very untidy working place!) .Instead of getting angry, i went to bed to rest and on next day I made a total bigger, better new crest from green stuff and some recycled plumes from other figures (redbox medieval irish for instance). result was quite good!

Hope you like them!!

Orc-tober Fest 2020 is here!

The most important mOnth of the year is here, and more Orc Boyz are ready to Party!!

Fortunately, they are immune to Covid19-SARS 2 so they can happily make big crowds and riots, and do not need any Facemask or alcoholic gel (at least not in hands) at all!

let me show my latest inclusisons for the Waagh:

-Aftee tests of funny collecting and experimentos, my proud 1/72 vale of Boar riders:

Firstly, I had big troubles to find suitable boars.. i fianllay collected some not-guge old citadel Boars, together woth Blood Dawn  figures (15mm scale but they mat ch good here) and the smartest models, form 28mm wild animals range of company  "Primaeval desginds" (nice sculpting and perfect scale for boar mounts)

My own Orc Warchief leads this group..he is a nice 28Mm old Marauder orc, become a great 1/72 orc leader

His boyz are mostly Cesar figures (both sets, altoghut Set 2 has a lot more perosnality)

-Some goblin mix:
Alliance types together with several Metal 15mm orcs and goblins which match actually good!

-goblin wolf/warg Riders

Some metals from ral partha and splintjered light. Wolfs from ral partha and gamese War of the Ring and Arcane Legions

- Another experiment with this goblin wolf Chariot:
Chariot is mirliton. Wolves tal partha and crew old Caesar goblin fellows
