Eomer of Rohan

Hello,
I apologize first to the orctoberfest colleagues, as I did leave our beloved orcish beastie boys and switched to some of their hardest enemies (at least in the Middle Earth..),

I am increasing my Rohan forces to represent as soon as possible some figting between them and my also increasing Uruk-Hai Isengard horde (my wanted scenario is battle of Helms deep but it requires big work in scenography first.. porbably some Border skirmishes to be shown firstly.)

I produced more foot Rohan warriors as well as some more horse-fighter, (more pics and posts  to come soon!), I included a picture of  King Theoden´s Guard and royal Banner, all on foot, who will be fighting in Helms Deep

I wanted to focus however in this post in a popular characher form Books and Movied: Eomer, nephew of  Theoden, heroic an noble cavalry leader. His role is a little different between book and Movie, but anyway he deserves my own 1/72 contribution to him

I converted a metal nice saxon mounted warrior from "Tumbling dice", only some Crest for his helmet, shoulder protection  more hair were needed to be similar to Peter Jackson verison..
Hope you like him. More figures form this manufacturer will be also added to the Rohan riders (several saxon, viking and norman horsemen in mail+cloak+rpund shields)

Men of Rohan-Designing HELMS DEEP-foot warriors

Hello I am back with the Mega-Tolkien project,

 I was not so fast as I wanted and still not VERY big advances, but at least I can show you a little unit of foot Rohan warriors (the original Title I wanted for the post was "Riders of rohan" but it was a little absurd, still without horses -Just for a short while :)...) and starting with fortress structures... I am totally new with scenery so lets see.. there is a good bunch of info in the web for developing this new hobby area...

First a little foot Rohan warriors  unit which I want to use for an  Helms Deep scenario ((they will go along with some archers, totally 4 units, and maybe also in bigger battle of Pellenor, together with horse comrades)..  But still many figures to paint, and the total definition of the fortress ...

At least you can find here King Theoden of Rohan in first line of the fight :)

In a few days also a mounted unit will be ready.

Can you recognise the origin of all figures? There is a mix of periods from several manufacturers

For the first structures, first of all I got a very hard density black foam in my Workplace.. It is really useful!! And my last and great discovery: Some medieval Cardboard 3d kits form russian company CLEVER PAPER wich are surprisingly match to 1/72, very beautiful and detailed and are very easy and fast to mount, strong enough to be trnapsrted and stored, and even suitable for children over  5y old  -.-

Along you will find my children playing  a little with the first sample I bought; a gate wich can maybe used as Hornbug main gate,,,

10,90 eur at local shop in spain...Not super-cheap but a very good, resistent, time saving and funny  product in my opnion ..

now I am trying to find more items cheaper direct by manufacturer, If only I could russian!..
